STANFORD Rugby Club players swapped scrums and line-outs for songbooks to perform a Christmas concert.
Members of the senior men’s, ladies, youth, mini and midi section at the club formed a choir specifically to entertain elderly people at Kynoch Court, in Billet Lane, Stanford-le-Hope.
Players spent six weeks rehearsing for the show, which featured a mixture of classic and modern Christmas songs under the guidance of Sean Cochrane and Adam Lakey.
Simon Rumble, Anna Winn, Sophie Davies and Lucy Kirby sang duets.
Club member Graham Loughran said: “This event just shows you what unique members Stanford RFC have. It’s not just a rugby club it’s so much more.
“For me it will be a treasured Christmas memory for years to come and I am sure without doubt the audience was just as awestruck.”
