TILBURY won their fourth home win in a row to pull themselves away from the relegation mire.

The Dockers beat Thamesmead Town to lift themselves up to midtable, with goals from Jack Carlile and Rimmel Daniel proving enough.

Manager Gary Henty made three changes, bringing in Harry Cook, Ellis Remy and Daniel and they all played a big part in the victory.

Remy hit wide inside the first minute after a good run from Harry Cook and Cook was in the thick of the action a few moments later when he as tripped inside the penalty box. Up stepped Carilile and he scored withe ease.

With the wind in the sails, Tilbury continued to press forward, Remy's 30-yard free kick turned away by the away goalkeeper.

Thamesmead came out well after the break, but could not break down a well organised Tilbuy defence with Carlile, Nightingill and Sam West working well in defence.

Midway through the second half Thamesmead did have a chance when Rob Cater was left unmarked in the six yard box but he failed to connect and the chance was gone.

And Tilbury went further in front with 15 minutes to go when substitute Tom Wood played in Daniel and he struck left-footed into the roof of the net.

Thamesmead did pull a goal back with eight minutes remaining when a long ball out of defence found the head of Callum Macgeehan who nodded past home debutant Jack Giddens.

After the game, manager Gary Henty said: "I am pleased with our defence on a difficult night and to make it four home wins on the trot is pleasing."
