Thurrock 3-0 Wroxham
From Ship Lane
THURROCK produced a superb display to knock Wroxham off their perch and return to winning ways.
Fleet had a November to forget, failing to win in six league and cup matches, whereas Wroxham had won 10 in 12.
But there was only one winner in this match, as goals from Loui Hazelwood, Ross Wall and substitute Mark Onyemah ensured a happy start to the month for Mark Stimson’s side.
The hosts started the brighter, with Hazelwood blazing over after neat build-up. Abs Thomson also shot over before Hazelwood tested the goalkeeper for the first time.
The goal came right on half-time, after the marauding Ishmel Demontagnac was brought down in the box. Hazelwood dispatched the kick with ease.
Wroxham had the ball in the net moments after the restart but the flag went up for offside.
Simon King had a header tipped over before a penalty box melee saw King, Demontagnac and Clark all have shots blocked.
With three minutes to go, Thurrock broke away and this time Wall made no mistake before extending Thurrock’s lead to 2-0.
As full time approached substitute Onyemah latched onto a Wall through ball and crashed the ball home to seal the win.
Thurrock: Walker, Goode, Waters, King, Gilman, Thomson (Onyemah), Demontagnac (Farrell), Clark, Stewart, Wall, Hazelwood
