RUGBY: Pegasus Palmerians RFC - which looked to be homeless following uncertainty surrounding the Pegasus Social Club in Heard lane - has a new home.

The new home for Pegasus Palmerians for the forthcoming 2014/15 season is at St Cleres School, with the new clubhouse at St Clere’s Hall.

The move keeps the club close to its original roots.

A club spokesman said: “After 14 years Pegasus Palmerians RFC were determined not to fall victim of the Pegasus Club change in ownership and as a club worked extremely hard throughout off season to ensure the boroughs most successful junior club remand in existence, looking after its two senior teams and 60 club members.

“The hugely talented pool of players, who regularly punch above their weight both on and off the field with many players enjoying the competitive level of rugby, which goes alongside the clubs strong family values for many social events. “This is also in addition with the clubs commitment to ensure we tour every Easter.”

Last year Pegs 1st XV successfully out muscled much bigger clubs in Essex to gain promotion to the top flight of Essex Rugby for the forthcoming season.

And Peg’s 2nd XV made the final of their league cup.

Pegasus are hoping to boost their membership with the move. .
