FISHING: The very hot weather has made carp fishing at Stanford's Warren lakes difficult with plenty of fish seen but not always feeding, the best method is fishing floater baits or using zig-rigs with the best fishing early or late.

Carp to 27.5lb reported with Gary Knewham catching one of the rare warren grass carp at 25lb 5oz it was caught on a floating bait and it is the best reported this season.

The square lake has produced fair numbers of bream, roach and tench for the float and tip anglers.

The main lake is still producing bream in good numbers for the anglers that locate the shoals, quiver tip is the best method, roach perch and tench also reported.

The match lake has been fishing well with plenty of anglers taking more than a dozen tench in a session , individual fish up to 6.5lb, some bream showing with fish up to 6lb, best baits luncheon meat, cockles or large pieces of bread flake, plenty of small roach perch and rudd for float anglers using maggot baits.
