Stock 120

Thurrock 124-4

THURROCK won their second match in a row after comfortably beating bottom of the table Stock by six wickets, writes Bill West.
The visitors fielded first and thanks to some fine bowling by opening pair Umaad Sultan (4-25) and Daniel Laird (3-25), bowled out the hosts with just 120 on the board in the 38th over.
Only David Cole made runs of any significance for the hosts. His score of 57 was one of only two to reach double figures in what is a very disappointing batting card.
In reply, Thurrock were in a spot of bother at 36-3, but Laird (43 not out) and Ross Fullbrook (36) came together and put on an excellent partnership of 75 for the fourth wicket to take the score to 111. The runs were quickly seen off with plenty of time to spare.
Thurrock are now joint third in the Premier Division with five games left.
