THURROCK Rugby Club’s Thunderbirds sevens team has enjoyed another great weekend.

And this time it was at the prestigious FindRugbyNow tournament.

Enjoying the last tournament of the season, the borough were a huge hit as they played some classy rugby, according to coach Jamie Daisley.

They also sold lots of official Pins for the BreakThrough breast cancer charity.

The borough team – sponsored by Wallis Teagan – made their way to the semi-finals, defeating the hosts FindRugbyNow who were a representative side of real quality.

They won 21-19 with tries from Claire Phelps, Camilla Cambell and India Harvey. And crucially Harvey kicked all three conversions to win the game.

Unfortunately, due to the tournament over-running, the final was set for 8pm and various Thurrock players had night shifts – so it was conceded to Saracens!
