SEA ANGLING: There has been plenty of action for sea anglers in the last week.
Southend Pier: There is lots of weed around and this is affecting sport in the estuary. However, those anglers avoiding the weed are catching the occasional garfish, school bass and horse mackerel. Flounders are being caught inshore when there is no weed.
Southend beaches: Flounders and school bass are providing sport.
Thamesmead: Bass, mullet to 2.5lb and eels to 80cm have been caught an hour before low water and two hours up.
Erith: Flounders and eels are showing at Morrison’s Jetty.
Gravesend: Graham, from Dolphin Angling, reports soles, flounders, eels, bass to 4.5lb – all on lug or rag worm bait.
