Stanford's Warren anglers having fun with bream, tench and roach

FISHING: STANFORD’S square lake at The Warren has produced carp to 21lb plus bream, tench and roach.

A few perch have been reported – numbers are down because they are probably preoccupied with feeding on the shoals of fry. Chris Goldsmith caught the best eel from the square with the fish tipping the scales at 4.5 lb.

This weekend’s members pairs carp match in the main lake saw 47 fish caught with the winning pair snagging 17 fish for a total weight of 301 lb. The best fish was 25lb.

The previous weekend saw the latest of the Warren open matches on the match lake with the winner Keith Nash with 48lb of tench.
