Stanford 2nds 194ao
Hutton 2nds 196-6
STANFORD’S second string were beaten by Hutton at the weekend.
Stanford were defeated by a strong and determined Hutton side – despite making their highest total of the season so far.
Hutton put the home side into bat and took an early wicket.
But opener Alex Ellis (50) and number three batsman, Mark Knight (20), managed to set a platform for some fluent stroke play by Sachin Sewgobind (59).
A late flourish from the tail, got the total to 194, just six runs short of securing full batting points.
O’Dell (4-55 off 15 overs) and Mowll (3-31 off 10 overs) were the pick of the Hutton bowlers.
Suffering from injuries and poor availability, Stanford’s depleted bowling attack set about defending the total.
Hutton got off to a flyer in response.
Their talented skipper Taylor (38) did the early damage before Alex Pearce (64 not out) saw them to victory.
This was despite valiant efforts by Neil Fuller (3-43 off 19 overs) and Andrew Love (2-85 off 16 overs).
