BIG hearted cricketers from Stanford and Horndon have boosted a major charity.
The Simply the Breast regional fundraising group for Breast Cancer Campaign benefitted to the tune of £1,376 thanks to a charity Twenty20 cricket match between the two local teams.
There was also a barbeque, cake stall, pink stall, vintage ice cream van, bouncy castles and sumo (from Bizzy Bouncers), and more help from Petals & Plants (Corringham), Sandy Bay Candles, St Luke’s Hospice, Lucy & Ellie’s hair, nails & tattoos and live music from Horndon’s own Adam Rivers.
Stanford won the charity match after posting an impressive 175 for five. Horndon’s batsmen scored 144 for eight wickets before they ran out of time.
