PURFLEET’S Khai Riley-La Borde continued his impressive start to the season by bagging two wins at the Bedford International Games.
The 18-year-old clocked 13.99s and 13.78s to convincingly win his two 110m hurdles races while Tilbury’s Robbie Clarricoats clocked a season’s best of 14.47s in the same event.
Aveley’s Modupe Shokunbi (under-17) blasted her way to a new personal best (PB) in the 100m, clocking 12.06s in her heat before finishing second in 12.20s in the final.
Tom Head won the under-20 men’s hammer competition with a throw of 62.61s while, a day earlier, his younger sister Katie (under-15) threw a season’s best of 51.60m to win the under-15 girls hammer event for her club Newham & Essex Beagles at their match in Eltham. It was the second longest throw in the UK this year.
