Thurrock 126-6
Stock 125-9
THURROCK maintained their position at the top of the Premier Division with a four-wicket wicket over Stock.
In a game reduced the match to 33 overs a side, the hosts bowled first and restricted Stock to only 125 runs. Daniel Laird impressed with figures of 4-22 and with Rob Neal picking up four wickets.
Small totals can be difficult to chase in poor conditions, and this proved to be the case in Thurrock's innings. Captain Nick Henry scored a quick-fire 45 from 44 balls, but when he was dismissed with the score on 72-4, which quickly became 73-5, the hosts were in a spot of bother.
But Matt Hills (22*) and Danny Crow (23) hit a crucial 45-run partnership to swing the match back in Thurrock's favour. Crow was bowled with the score on 118, but the runs eventually came.
