ORSETT’s second string kicked off their league season away to Fives.
Orsett, despite winning the toss, lost early wickets.
And they found themselves 90-6 with only James Edge making a notable contribution of 39.
That was until there was a late rally.
Daryl Millard (28) and Jack Plom (35 not out) came together and built a solid partnership despite several rain breaks. Orsett’s total of 178-8 was pretty competitive in the conditions.
And Fives & Heronians never put up much of a fight to chase the runs and finished only two wickets down for 128 in a game that petered out.
The draw came despite Orsett’s best efforts to pick up wickets. l Orsett’s first string drew their match against Fives & Heronians firsts.
Fives posted 243-5 with Orsett 212-1 before time ran out for the Thurrock team.
