OCKENDON Motor Spares are celebrating winning Thurrock Premier League’s Ted Fairchild Cup. The competition saw OMS pitted against Blackshots FC at Tilbury.
OMS raced into a 4-0 lead but then had two players sent off (for second yellow card offences) and had to play 20 minutes with just nine players.
OMS’s Terry Matthews said: “The lads made life a bit difficult for themselves, but in the end it came right.”
“It was 4-4 at the end of 90 minutes but we were on form with the penalty shots. We scored all four of ours but they only managed one so that’s how it ended up.”
Ockendon Motor Spares also scooped the Premier League championship again.
