SPEEDWAY: VORTEX Hammers promoter Jon Cook insists the team are yet to find their best form as they moved past the first third of their season, with a straight forward victory over Wolverhampton.
Looking back after the 53-40 result, Cook said: “Victory was never really in doubt from heat four onwards and only the tactical rule (one we have yet to be in position to use ourselves) raised any doubts mid-match about the bonus point. “Aside from King’s Lynn, who are clearly the cream of the crop this year, the Elite league is wide open with four or five other strong teams and once we can find consistency from all the boys, we will be in with a really good shout for play-off qualification”
The Hammers were due to travel to the South coast yesterday (Wednesday May 14) to take on Poole Pirates before returning back to The Raceway for the mouthwatering clash against the tough King’s Lynn Stars team on Monday, May 19.
