BOROUGH equestrian star Jodie Richter, 16, has been showing her class. She competed at Keysoe in Bedfordshire at the Amateur Showing Society winter champs with her seven year old.

Her coloured pony – called Jazz – proved a competitive mount but the Thurrock rider has been working tirelessly with instructor Kristy Youngson to improve her chances.

Jodie – who attends Hassenbrook Academy – and Jazz won the show hunter pony event which took her through to the evening ridden-pony championship.

And in this testing event Richter won the reserve champion prize. Into the Supreme class competition, Richter beat 12 other riders to scoop the prize thanks to a unanimous decision from the judges. Richter’s aim is to qualify for this year’s prestigious Horse of the Year Show.
