NON LEAGUE: THURROCK have carved themselves out a chance at play-off glory. Their Easter Monday victory over Ware has given Mark ‘Stimmo’ Stimson’s team fresh hope of making the play-offs as his team continue their quest for a Ryman One North play-off slot.
The close victory at Ware on a sunny Bank Holiday Monday was key. The one goal of the game came just before the half hour mark.
Jordan Clark scored from the penalty spot – to the delight of the travelling Fleet faithful.
After a traumatic two relegations in two seasons, Fleet’s play-off hope could see Stimson’s team headed for glory. And his team face Ware again tonight – at Ship Lane on Thursday evening – and after this key match there is the final game of the season against local rivals Tilbury on Saturday.
The match, at Ship Lane is bound to be a big draw for the borough’s non league fans.
On Easter Saturday Fleet beat Redbridge 2-1.
A Daniel Francis goal was not enough to save the Motormen. Former Redbridge striker Kurt Smith was amongst the goals for Fleet.
