RYMAN ONE NORTH:
KYLE Asante was the hero for the Millers at the weekend.
Justin Gardner’s Aveley came away with all three points in their Ryman One North match against Ware at Wodson Park.
Asante’s 35-yard goal had the crowd buzzing and demonstrated what a great striker of the ball he is. But the Millers had taken the lead thanks to Lee Weemes in the first half. Weemes pounced on a mistake by Erol Hassan and used classy footwork to get round keeper Rhys Madden. He then tapped the ball home.
There were other chances. Just before the break Kieran Bishop headed narrowly wide.
Anton Kostalas came close too when his long shot almost restored parity. But the shot could not beat Kalin Artakiev in the Aveley goal.
Substitute Asante made his excellent contribution late in the game. His smashed volley home from nearly 35 yards flew in to settle the matter.
