BOXING: TWO Chadwell St Mary Boxers made it through to the semi-finals of the National Schoolboy Championships to be held at Camberley in Surrey.

Klayden Russell-Meade, 14, (38.5kg) and James Josling, 13, (29.5kg) won through after outboxing their opponents in every round. They won by a unanimous decision. Both fighters will box in the semi finals to be held in Feltham. They will compete against Repton Boys Club. Russell-Meade and Josling are now in the top four boxers in England at their age and weight.

Other Chadwell fighters did not fare so well in the quater finals. Jake Healy, 14, (48kg), Larry Hanrahan, 14, (54kg), Sam Lee, 13, (50kg) and Quey Moloney, 13, (37kg) lost on close split decisions.

Another Chadwell boxer who is making his mark for the local club is Ian Farrell, 16, (56kg). Ian boxed against F Borhanzada from Newham ABC at the Prince Regent Hotel Chigwell. The strong local boxer won by a unanimous decision.

Senior elite boxer Kieran Redding (60 kg) will box in the Eastern Counties Final of the Senior ABAs against Steve Woods from Billericay on April 11.
