ANGLING: STANFORD’S Warren match lake should provide plenty of fun when it reopens this weekend.

The lake has been restocked with 3,000 roach to half a pound, with a further 300 tench coming soon.

The match lake is scheduled to reopen on Saturday April 5, but should be treated with care as some of the areas still have standing water.

The main lake is producing carp to 24lb, with the bream in tight shoals. Some anglers are getting good bags up to 100lb in total with individual fish to 8lb.

Other anglers, who are not near a shoal are just getting a few roach and odd tench to 6lb. Andy Way targeted the perch and had three fish over 2lb and three more over 3lb.

His best catch was a 3lb 6oz fish caught on worm and prawn. Netting is taking place in the main lake to remove crayfish and over the winter 800 kilos of crayfish have been removed.

The square lake has produced carp to 16lb plus bream, small roach and tench.
