KARATE: TILBURY’s Kenkyukai Karate competed in the last weekend’s Kaizen Cup in Redbridge.
The club – which is run by senesi Bill Martion – entered seven competitors in both kumite (fighting) and kata (pre-arranged moves) Fighters scooped three golds two silvers and four bronzes.
The event attracted 130 competitors with most coming from clubs in the London area.
Thurrock competitors were Tyler Wood, Connor Ryan, Harrison Harvey, Kerrie Lee, Ellie Edwards, Sydney Edwards and Rheanna Hadley. Kenkyukai Karate Tilbury, have run a club in Tilbury for the past eleven years. They practice Okinawan Go-ju Karate as well as sports karate. Training takes place on Mondays and Fridays.
