LEE Weemes’ third goal in four games salvaged a point for Aveley who come from behind to draw 1-1 at Cheshunt.
Weemes fired across goal and into the bottom corner with seven minutes remaining in a game of two halves.
Following on from their comfortable 3-0 win over Burnham Ramblers on Monday night, the Millers were not at the races in the first 45 at the Cheshunt Stadium.
The home side took the lead after 19 minutes, although Aveley will consider themselves unfortunate with how the goal came about.
Whilst the rest of the back line tried to play the offside trap, Allen Bossman was played onside by the injury stricken Alfred Kamara who was laid out on the floor, allowing Bossman time to pick his spot as he put the home side in front.
The second half was an entirely different story as Justin Gardner’s side controlled the play but had to be patient in their search of an equaliser.
Michael Begg had forced a superb save from Sonny Sheed-Ryan before Weemes levelled with his well taken goal late on.
