FISHING: THE wet weather has blighted angling at a lot of spots along the River Thames.
Many popular venues are flooded, with Dagenham Market, Rainham’s Coldharbour Lane and under the Queen Elizabeth Bridge at the Dartford crossing under water.
But anglers have been finding some sport. Southend Pier: Lee, from Southend Angling Centre, reports whiting being landed, with dabs on the bottom, but sprats are affecting fishing as there are currently a lot of them in the Thames.
Southend beaches: Sport is more miss than hit at the moment but there is still the chance of a flounder or whiting.
Thamesmead and Erith: Eddie Sharp reports only flounders being caught.
Belvedere: Flounders and eels.
Gravesend: Graham, from Dolphin Angling, reports flounders and the occasional whiting being landed.
Greenhythe: Whiting and flounders are showing.
