STANFORD’s Sirens showed their teeth after a long lay-off with a 60-7 defeat of Millwall Venus. Stanford had been working hard at training and it showed in this game. They were out to make an impact and from the off their skipper took the ball and broke through into the opposition’s half.
The unrelenting attack forced a penalty from Millwall, which led to a quick penalty being taken for the first score of the game. The game continued at a fast pace. Stanford turned over rucks with their back line – with new player Amber Storror making some great lines – showing the way.
She was supported by Stephanie Witham and Kirsty Moore. And the home side managed to keep the scoreboard ticking over. The final score was an impressive 60-7 scoreline.
Stanford’s next match will be against Kilburn Cosmos. Point Scorers for the Sirens were: Kirsty Moore (three tries), Vicki Wells (two), Debbie Walshe (one), Stephanie Witham (one), Rachel Crowhurst (three) and five conversions.
