FISHING: STANFORD’S Warren Lakes has seen more decent fish being caught.
The main lake has seen the best pike (a 26lb fish) caught by Mike Townley. The keen angler fished it from the back bay.
The same angler also caught a fish of 21lb two days later from the car park bay area.
Both fish were caught on ledgered dead baits. The best carp was a 28lb 10oz mirror carp caught by Gary Newham. He used popped up bollies from the beach area to snag the decent fish, pictured.
There were also good bags of quality roach to 1lb 8oz for anglers that find the shoals plus a few perch to 3lb 2oz.
Stanford’s popular square lake is producing carp to 18lb, plus a few pike.
Other fish being caught include plenty of small roach on the float.
And Dave Welch had eight bream between 3lb and 5lb on soft pellet on the feeder in a short afternoon session at the lakes.
