RUGBY: THAMES went down to a 34-22 defeat to the Kings X Steelers at the weekend.
Thames had been looking for a win following the introduction of new players over the holiday period.
But the result went against them despite an early try from Sam Mayes. Steelers hit back thanks to their talented fly half.
An injury to Thames influential centre Sam Mayes forced a re-shuffle in the Thames back line and Kings X managed to exploit the space.
Two unanswered scores left Thames chasing the game.
Thames’ forwards did manage to push over following some great teamwork but the match had already slipped away.
