ANGLING: THERE have been plenty of large pike at the Warren’s main lake. The largest was a 25lb 8oz fish caught from back bay point on ledgered mackerel.

Season ticket holder Steve Webber’s fish of 20lb 20z is far from the largest fish of the season, but had the honour of being the 20th recorded pike of more than 20lb since October.

He caught his fish on float fished sea bait from the pier area. A few carp are still being caught from the main lake.

The best reported was a common of 28lb.

The square lake is still producing carp, John Brotherwood had fish of 23lb and 20lb plus small fish using snowman bollie rigs.

Small roach plus few perch and bream are being caught by waggler or quiver tip with maggots.
