NON LEAGUE: GRAYS Athletic endured a painful 4-1 defeat at the hands of Suffolk side Leiston at the weekend.
But it was not all bad news for the Blues and their boss Hakan Hayrettin because Torquay United defender Jake Hutchings has returned to Grays on a one month loan.
The player, who is just about to turn 18, was a youth player at Leyton Orient when he featured for a Grays Athletic’s Under-17s side managed by Andy Swallow, and he also trained with the first team under Hayrettin.
Torquay United moved for the young defender and quickly realised his potential, offering him a professional deal in January this year.
He featured for the Gulls first team and been a regular in the reserves and has attracted interest from Bristol City and other clubs. Jake, who is comfortable as a central defender or right-back, is available immediately.
