NETBALL: THESE are happy days for netball players at William Edwards School in Stifford Clays. The Year 9 youngsters have been crowned District Rally Champions.
And it’s a fact which has delighted Mercedes Foy who is the a PE teacher at the school.After the group stages, William Edwards went through as group runners up to face Gable Hall, with the other semi final taking place between Grays Convent and St Cleres.
After beating Gable Hall 7-5, William Edwards took on St Cleres in the final. The score was 3-3 when the final whistle went and a ‘golden goal’ situation was resolved when Leoni Pring shot from distance to give the girls overall victory. William Edwards and St Cleres will represent Thurrock at the Regional Finals in January.
