Thurrock sea catches

FISHING: THERE has been plenty of action for local seas anglers. Thamesmead: Flounders and eels.
Erith, Morrisons Jetty: The odd decent bass and flounders.
Belvedere, Normans Road and Ford’s Ferry Jetty: Bass, flounders, eels and whiting.
Graham from Dolphin angling reports: Gravesend: Whiting and codling around the 2lb mark plus flounders.
Greenhithe: Still a few soles coming up, plus bass and small whiting. Grays Wharf: Flounders and codling.
Lakeside: Whiting only.
Rainham’s Coldharbour Lane: Flounders, whiting and the odd schoolie bass.
River Crouch: Bass to 2.5lb, whiting plus the chance of a codling.
River Roach: Flounders and eels. In the freshwater section at Rochford fish from Rochford reservoir washed into the river giving good sport for freshwater fishing enthusiasts.
Southend Pier: Mackerel, mullet, bass and whiting. Southend Beaches: Flounders, a few pinhead whiting and schoolies, Barge Pier: Chance of a mullett and flounders.
West Beach, near the last groyne or on slipway: Chance of a codling with onshore winds. Nights are even better.
Walton Pier: Whiting, codling and skate.
Holland-on-sea: Codling and whiting.
Clacton Pier: Codling, whiting and dogfish.
Most East Coast venues are producing codling and whiting. The top spot is Pakefield in Norfolk on night tides with big lug baits for codling up to 3lb and whiting to 1.5lb. Squid baits are only catching whiting. Boats: Mistly Lady (out of Walton): Had cod, codling plus big Channel whiting and pouting. Herne Bay boats: Codling, whiting and lots of dogfish.
