ATHLETICS: THERE were good results for three Harriers senior endurance athletes this weekend.
Don Lawless won bronze at the national veterans track and field championships in Birmingham. He was third in the 45+ steeplechase championship with a time of 12m04s.
Jodie Farrell has only been a member of the club for 10 months, and produced a strong finish in the Ingatestone Five mile (34m59s) for a PB and age group victory.
David Johnson’s debut in the Great North Run proved to be very successful. He finished 156th with a PB time of 79m52s. Although he is currently living and working in the north east David hopes to return to Thurrock for some of the crucial winter fixtures.
