Levi Lee wins second national schoolboys championship

BOXING: CHADWELL St Mary ABC boxer Levi Lee (57kg) has won the National Schoolboy Championships for the second year running.

Lee, 14, defeated Connor Ward from Manchester’s Northside ABC at the Everton Sports Centre in Liverpool.

Lee will now go on to box for England in the Three Nations Championships.

Team mates twins Jay Healy (42kg) and Jake Healy (40kg) both lost their bouts in the semi finals in Portsmouth.

Jake lost to J Khan of Repton Boys Club on a majority decision and Jay lost against Repton’s Henry Turner.

Chadwell’s head coach Scot Johnston – believing that the Essex boxers were not being treated fairly – instructed Lee not to win on a points decision.Lee stopped his opponent Eddie McDonagh from Hooks in the first round.
