Veteran at national indoor championships

ATHLETICS: THURROCK’S veteran 50 plus star John Metcalf made the final of the national indoor champs on Sunday at the 800m. His time in the heats was two minutes 15. But in the final he ran out of steam with 100m to go and finished fifth in 2.21.
