Sea fishing in Thurrock

SEA FISHING: Thamesmead & Erith: Lots of seals on the Greenwich Bank mean anglers have found only the odd flounder at both these venues according to Eddie Sharp.

Dagenham Market: Still a few bigger flounders to be had, all on lug.

Thurrock Lakeside: Producing a fair amount of flounders.

Tilbury World’s End: Whiting and the odd smelt.

Grays Wharf: Whiting and the odd codling Gravesend: Graham, from Dolphin Angling, reports schoolies, whiting and flounder.

Greenhythe: Whiting with the chance of codling.

River Crouch: A few whiting for the die-hard angler. Turn right at the seawall at Fambridge and go to the small point, about three-quarters of a mile along.

Southend Pier: Whiting and dabs Southend beaches: Small whiting and flounders, all on lug.

Barge Pier: The odd better-sized whiting at long range.

East Beach: One or two flounder of mixed sizes at the Cafe end. At the boom end, there are flounders on both sides, all on lug. The better-sized ones are coming out at night.
