NON-LEAGUE: ROCKS tightened up their defence to claim a single-goal victory at home to Lewes.
The decisive goal came from the penalty spot on 10 minutes.
The spot-kick followed a foul on Lheureux Menga by keeper Kieron Thorp.
The sure-footed Sam Collins did not pass up the opportunity, converting in front of a crowd of 125 at Rookery Hill to give John Coventry’s side a lead they never surrendered.
That will have pleased the Rocks manager, who saw his side score eight goals in their previous two games – but frustratingly claim just a point.
East Thurrock: Justham, Ruel (Sammons 49), Wood, Peddie, Stephen, Gilbey, Burgess, Collins, Higgins, Bryant, Menga (Lawson 60). Gazette MoM: David Bryant (East Thurrock)
