Success in Lea Valley for hurdlers

ATHLETICS: THURROCK sprint hurdles star Khai Riley-Laborde and Robbie Clarricoats were both in indoor action at the London Games at Lee Valley, writes Ryan Goad.

The pair were among the best under-17 100m hurdlers in the country last year and are making their first steps up into the under-20 age group.

Riley-Laborde has shown fantastic early season form.

And he showed it again at Lee Valley by clocking a best time of 8.12s in the 60m hurdles, just one-hundreth of a second outside his personal best. Clarricoats, meanwhile, has been suffering from a niggling injury this early season, but still managed a PB of 8.43s in what was his first race of the year.

Thurrock Harriers were in action at the London Games, which attracted a high class field including plenty of GB internationals.

Multi-eventer Natalie Labeau ran the 200m (28.13s) and jumped the high jump (1.55m) and long jump (4.82m).
