Bridger sys he's looking forward to track season at Arena Essex

SPEEDWAY: NEW Lakeside Hammers signing Lewis Bridger says he’s in great shape for the forthcoming speedway season. Lewis, who recently became a father for the first time, admitted he’s delighted to have joined the Hammers from Eastburne – and he intends to show Essex speedway fans what he can do on a bike.

“I am really excited about the new season,” he said.

“Don't get me wrong, Eastbourne are a great club and over the years they have done a lot for me, the fans have been great, but at times I felt as I was not being pushed and therefore I needed a new challenge”. Lewis is targeting the British Final, a place in Neil Middleditchs’ Great Britain World Cup squad and the Grand Prix Challenge in 2013.

“2013 is the turning point for me,” he said. “I intend to achieve greatness in 2013 and there is nothing holding me back.”

“I have an excellent mechanic for 2013 and one of the best engine tuners in the world looking after my motors, what more could a 23 year old British lad want?”.

Brighton-based Bridger will ride for the Lakeside Hammers Speedway team in the Sky Sports UK Elite League in 2013.
