Judo action this weekend in South Essex

JUDO: Top players from around the world will be in action in south Essex this weekend at Southend Judo Club’s annual international competition.

The event is in its third year and will feature junior, senior and masters judoka at Southend Leisure & Tennis Centre, in Eastern Avenue.

Flights into Southend Airport have resulted in an increase in the number of European competitors entering the competition, which runs on Saturday and Sunday between 9.30am and 5pm.

The British Army and Royal Navy will have teams taking part for the first time.
