Names released of two found dead in suspected chemical suicide

The man and woman found dead in a car yesterday in a suspected "chemical" incident, have been named as Stephen Lumb and Joanne Lee.

Police cordoned off an area of Springwood Drive Braintree, at about 8.25am yesterday after a worker raised the alarm.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "Essex Police has liaised with the Essex Coroner Mrs Caroline Beasley-Murray and an agreement has been reached that we will identify the two people found dead in a car in Braintree yesterday, Monday, September 20. They were Stephen Lumb, 35, of Charles Street, Sowerby Bridge in Yorkshire, and Joanne Lee, 34, from the White Court area of Great Notley, near Braintree."

Strange. Sounds like it could be one of those internet suicide pacts. It was (and still is) a major problem in Japan I think.

I've just had a look at this story on the Daily hate Mail website. Very few of the comments there are as bigoted or reactionary as some of the comments above. Shame on you.

How can people be so cruel. I knew the lady involved and she will be sadly missed. She was one of the most kind, loving people I have known. Her family are grieving a tragic loss and do not need these hurtful comments. Rest in peace Jo. Your memory will live on in the lives of those you touched xx

It would be helpful that if the moderator decides that a comment is against the grain, he or she would at least have the courtesy to leave a message to the effect.

Otherwise, the thread makes no sense and it is not immediately apparent that, however disagreeable the comment, the issue of free speech has again been abrogated and undermined by the supposedly "free" press of this country.

Something my father, my son and millions of others have fought to preserve!.
