A12 pothole chaos - more delays expected

Commuters can expect more delays on the A12.
One lane of the southbound carriageway just past the Hatfield Peverel turn off is expected to remain closed for the next 24 hours.
The inside lane closure is the result of a burst water pipe which has caused a pothole.
Police were called to the scene at 6am this morning.
They assisted the drivers of four vehicles, whose tyres had been damaged by the pothole.
Jenna Smith, police spokesman, said: “Those travelling southbound on the A12 should expect long delays and are advised to take an alternative route if possible.”
The lane will remain closed while repair work is being carried out.
