Recycling is not being made easy!

I ENJOY recycling, doing my little bit for the environment, and each week put out my blue bin to have it emptied.

Anyone who lives in Adelaide Road, in Tilbury, and adjacent streets will know the problems of the recycling trucks getting down the small roads, so we all very nicely put our bins in a communal area to await collection.

But then there is the haphazard way the bins are redeposited all over the road after collection and again someone has gone one step further than all the rest of us and chosen to recycle my blue bin for their own use – so now I have no blue bin.

Sadly this is the fourth time this has happened – my black bin went walkies twice.

I managed to get a free replacement, and then my old bin appeared on my doorstep a few weeks later, only to have the new one go missing the next day.

Now yet again my blue bin has gone missing from the communal area at the top of the street.

On calling the council for a replacement, I now understand why my bins keep going missing – there is a £30 charge for a new one.

I guess this is why people keep recycling my bins for their own use.

Surely there should be some concession for residents like us that have no control over the safety of our bins’ welfare when they are not collected from outside our homes? – MRS JOHNSON, Adelaide Road, Tilbury.
