THE Thurrock Branch of the National Animal Welfare Trust would like to thank those kind people who made donations to our charity over the Christmas period.

Thanks also to those people who during the recent bad weather donated food for the feral cats we feed, many of whom were once domestic cats but have been left to fend for themselves by uncaring owners.

This a particularly difficult time for many charities and particularly for animal ones.

Many people face house repossession or evictions and while help may be given to these families, there is nowhere for their animals to be kept in safety, so we are called upon to help, besides dealing with those animals we would normally take in e.g. where the owner has died or is ill. There is no Government help or lottery funding for animals, so we must rely entirely upon our own fundraising and donations.

Further support can be given to this charity by attending a concert at St Cedds Church on Saturday, March 31, at 7.30pm given by Thurrock Male Voice Choir, the proceeds going to this charity.
