I OBJECT to the proposed yellow lines along Branksome Avenue as this is another waste of money. The reason being that the marked areas for the lines have crossed people’s drives at many junctions, therefore people do not park there anyway.
We regularly walk along the road many times in the week and at weekends. We have rarely seen anybody park on the proposed areas, so defeating the reason for any proposed lines as people do not park so close to the corners.
I think the council should be sorting the speed that some cars travel along the road, not by doing the boxed sections that have been done.
They have added a problem as many cars now park on the path trying to leave a gap between the car and the boxed section, making it harder for pedestrians, and easier for the cars to go faster as they do not have to slow down as there road has opened up for them.
The amount of money spent on the red striped, boxed white lines now yellow lines has been a complete waste and should have gone towards paying for free parking that is needed locally.
