A WOMAN was mugged by a man on a pushbike while walking along a Grays street.

As he rode past the woman in Brentwood Road he grabbed her large white handbag, which contained £560 cash, house keys, a Samsung mobile phone, credit cards and a digital camera.

The female victim was walking along Brentwood Road, Grays when the attack happened.

Police are now hunting the attacker but warned people to be vigilant.

Laura Anderson of Thurrock police said: “We would urge people to carry their bags close to their body at all times and, where possible, avoid carrying large sums of cash or items of value in their handbags.”

The mugger is described as a white man with dark brown hair. He wore a football shirt and was riding a red and white scrambler or field bike.

Witnesses to the attack, which happened at around 3.40pm on Monday, July 28, are asked to contact Grays police on 0300 333 4444.
