Cricket bat used in road rage attack

A MAN was hit with a cricket bat following a road rage row.

The 39-year-old man was driving along Orsett Road in Grays when he got into an argument with another motorist.

The pair pulled over and the other driver, a man, got out of his car wielding the bat.

He tried to hit the terrified victim over the head with the bat but failed and hit out at the victim a second time, this time striking him on the back.

The man also hit the victim’s Vauxhall Vectra causing £150 damage to the car.

Police are now hunting the man’s attacker and appealing for witnesses.

The attacker is described as white, aged 20 to 35, around 5ft 10ins tall, stocky and wore blue jeans, a blue or grey t-shirt and white trainers.

He had black curly hair and is thought to be or Turkish or European descent.

Witnesses to the attack, which happened at 4pm on Tuesday, July 21 is asked to contact police at Grays on 0300 333 4444.
