WE welcomed 19 members to our April meeting.

Our guest speaker was Richard Hoyle, a farmer from Navestock, who has been a beekeeper for eight years.

Richard gave a very interesting presentation on honey bees, including the many health benefits of taking honey as part of a healthy diet and how we can adopt a beehive which is supported by the WI.

The competition was won by Caryl Taylor.

Members were informed of forthcoming events, including tickets for Enchanted at the Thameside Theatre in Grays on July 22 and our cream tea afternoon on July 11.

Our posh frocks and tiara’s birthday party will be on October 24.

Names were taken for a day trip to Denman College in May 2013.
