THURROCK WRITERS’ CIRCLE
1:26pm Wednesday 30th May 2012 in Club Call
JOY Ridgewell welcomed author Julie Irwin to Thurrock Writers Circle this week.
Julie has written two Edwin Spencer children’s books so far.
The first, Edwin Spencer’s Hysterical Adventures, is an engaging magical fantasy adventure for children aged 10 and over, an ideal read for boys and girls.
Julie told how she has always enjoyed writing and is now on her third book. She also goes into schools and helps encourage more children to read and write.
Thanks to Thurrock Arts Council for giving TWC a grant, which will be used to enable us to engage more speakers.
Members are looking forward to supporting Thurrock Drama Festival next month. TWC meets every fortnight at the Hugh Delargy Complex Hall, in Chadwell St Mary, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. The next meeting is on June 6.
