THE members celebrated 47 years of weekly meetings with a dinner and dance at Corringham Village Hall, on Saturday, March 10.
Seventy-six members attended and Ann Nash and Marianne Knight received gifts in appreciation of their service.
The Guild meets every Thursday between 1pm and 3.30pm and has a variety of speakers and social afternoons.
The speaker on Thursday, March 8, was Gordon Sinclair, a retired policeman, who gave a talk on Victorian policing.
He generously donated his fee to the Salvation Army. A vote of thanks was given by Betty Heacock.
The Guild has two charities to raise funds for this year, the Air Ambulance and the Macmillan Nurses. We are doing a sponsored walk on June 7 for them.
