Communities unite for annual meeting
7:00am Thursday 18th October 2012 in News
MORE than 60 people from a host of different backgrounds came together for the One Community Development Trust’s third annual general meeting.
Based in Dock Road, Tilbury, the Development Trust is an initiative, created by community and voluntary representatives for the benefit of people across southern Thurrock.
Open Monday to Friday, it offers tailored skills development, Zumba fitness sessions, Essex Savers Credit Union, and a workclub, as well as careers and housing advice.
After the meeting, there was food from around the world available and visitors heard testimonials from two participants in the charity’s flagship skills development programme.
Yewande Kannike, the trust’s chairman, said: “The annual general meeting was a huge success thanks to the support of our wonderful volunteers.
“We’re a small charity with a big heart for our community.”
